Emmi Solutions to Present Insights on Best Practices for Patient Engagement at The Cleveland Clinic’s 6th Annual Patient Experience: Empathy + Innovation Summit

CHICAGO, IL – May 5, 2015 – Emmi Solutions, the leader in outcomes-driven patient engagement, will be presenting research and hosting an executive roundtable at the sixth annual “Patient Experience: Empathy + Innovation Summit”. Taking place on May 17-20, 2015, at the Cleveland Convention Center, the summit is devoted to exploring patient experience as a key differentiator essential to healthcare delivery. Bringing together leaders in patient experience, healthcare and nursing, the summit fosters debate and candid discussion of key issues that drive a positive experience with the goal of delivering the best clinical, physical and emotional experience to patients and families.

Among the summit’s featured speakers is Geri Lynn Baumblatt, Executive Director of Patient Engagement for Emmi Solutions. She will be speaking with Kerry O’Connell, a dedicated patient-safety advocate, on the topic of how healthcare organizations can institute practices and implement tools to encourage more engaging patient-provider relationships. In addition to sharing best practices for patient engagement, their presentation will also showcase how healthcare technology that is designed in partnership with patients and providers can be used in clinical settings to break down barriers to reduce anxiety, improve competence, understanding, relational dynamics and communication. Ms. Baumblatt and Mr. O’Connell will be presenting on Monday, May 18th from 2 – 3:30 PM Eastern.

“The patient experience is affected by so many factors and being able to create a forum to discuss advances and learn from each other is imperative to improving the patient-clinician conversation so it’s more candid, productive, and ultimately leads to better outcomes,” said Geri Lynn Baumblatt. “Since last year’s conference, Emmi has accomplished some very meaningful advances in the way that we design our solutions and we’re looking forward to sharing our innovations with others.”

Additionally, on Tuesday, May 19th, at 4 PM Eastern, Emmi Solutions’ CEO Devin Gross and the Scottsdale Institute’s Shelli Williamson will be hosting an executive round table to share a preview of the “Scottsdale Institute’s Patient Engagement Adoption Model Survey and Framework” report, an effort to benchmark patient engagement efforts across provider organizations. The full report will be available later in 2015.

Throughout the summit, Emmi Solutions will be generating donations for Harvest for Hunger, a non-profit organization that supports local hunger relief organizations spanning 21 counties in Northeast and North Central Ohio. For every visitor to Emmi’s booth (#9), the company will donate $1 to Harvest for Hunger. With each dollar equating to four meals, Emmi’s contribution will result in a minimum of 1000 meals for families in need.

As the world’s largest independent summit exclusively focused on improving the patient experience, the “2015 Patient Experience: Empathy + Innovation Summit” attracts more than 2,000 attendees from around the world.
